Visit to A.G.E 2010

A couple of our guys went along to check out the 2010 Australiasian Gaming Expo in Darling Harbour from 8th-10th August 2010.
We were all very proud to see our work on display at many of the booths, including the launch of “Beat the Bandits” for Aristocrat, “Running Hot” for True Blue, “Mystic Dragon” for Maxgaming, and our most recent “Equinox” renders for ShuffleMaster..
It was great to catch up with familiar faces and to meet a few more, wrapping over with a few cold ales at the nearby James Squire bar in Darling Harbour.
We’re now planning our next trip to the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas in November which is shaping up to be a real cracker!

Primal

RedCartel recently delivered a series of 3d creature effects shots for a new Australian film “Primal” directed by Josh Reed. The film is due to be released in Berlin 2010. You can see some of our work at http://www.primalthemovie.com

This work entailed tracking our CG creature onto 2k film plates, full organic creature animation and set integration effects and final shot composition over 43 shots delivered under a tight deadline.

Overall we were pleased with the work and we all really look forward to seeing it on the big screen.

Bridgestone “Gift Card”

We recently produced and delivered a new 15sec TV spot for Bridgestone Australia, featuring our favourite little lizard, the Bridgestone Gecko.

Produced entirely in Blender over a 2 week period, this Gecko retail spot was created in 3d and aired throughout Australia during April 2010.

Bridgestone F1 - 2010

RedCartel created a 30sec TV spot for Bridgestone Australia aired at the telecast of the 2010 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne in March 2010.

Guided by the creatives at Showpony Advertising, we built the spot entirely in 3d using the skills of several remote specialists and the fine efforts of our inhouse team to craft a moody and atmospheric spot which was aired internationally during the live telecast.

ActewAGL

RedCartel produced all the 3d elements for a set of 3 live action ad spots for ActewAGL in Canberra.

Commissioned by Shannon Wilson of Pretty Little Things, we created all 3d elements, then tracked, animated and composited them onto live-action plates which were filmed in HD over a 2 day shoot in Canberra.

These spots have since been aired around the A.C.T.  for an ongoing campaign for the launch of a new bundled home product from ActewAGL.

Klaas Vaak

We recently delivered 40secs of animation for the intro & credit sequences on a new kids TV show called Sprookjes van Klaas Vaak.

Working with StudioL2 in Amsterdam, we brought the character to life for the first time, and the work has now been aired across Europe.

Listerine Total Care

In July this year, we produced an array of 3D animations for RMG Connect.

We worked closely with the agency to create 3d liquids and elements to support the online and print campaign for a new Listerine product launch.

Cottonelle Puppies

RedCartel recently delivered animation work for the famous Kleenex Puppy in a set of 4 loops for use on Digilite OOH displays throughout Australia.

Working with RMG Connect, we used original studio photography as a base then added our 3d trickery to bring him to life.

Bridgestone “Hotel” TVC

Our favourite little lizard, the Bridgestone Gecko features again in a 15sec 100% CGI spot that aired nationally in April 2009 for Bridgestone Australia. Agency : Showpony Advertising.

Update : This and several other of our Gecko spots will be shown in a”Making of”article in the upcoming edition #120 of “3d World” magazine, scheduled for release in Aug/Sept 2009.

Mars “Celebrations” TVC

Here’s a recent spot we delivered for Mars Celebrations via CumminsNitro. We worked with the now-defunct Monkeylab to generate all the CGI elements for this spot under an extremely tight deadline. It was aired nationally in early 2009 and is still in circulation.

First Love

As one of Screen Australia and BigPonds ‘Great Moments in History’ short films, ‘First Love’ has pipped 11 other films to be launched first on November 17.

NEWS : ‘First Love’ has been declared the winner of the inaugural Screen Australia and BigPonds ‘Great Moments in History’ short film contest, beating 11 other films.

Jellibots

Lighthouse

Written and directed by Exopolis for the Responsibility Project, ‘Lighthouse’ was produced entirely in-house and released in June 2008. Delivered at full HD resolution, the film is currently being submitted to festivals around the world.

NEWS: ‘Lighthouse’ was a finalist at the Australian Effects and Animation Festival in Sydney, Nov 2009.

Dollarmites

Commonwealth Bank’s classic Dollarmites characters have been redesigned and reinvented for the digital age on an award winning website.

StrideRite “Slimers” TVC

This TV commercial was created for US company StrideRite via agency MDG for a summer promotion of a new shoe design for Nickelodeon Kids.  Created entirely in 3d, the piece demonstrates Red Cartel’s experience in 3d fluids and liquids.

Ryobi Samurai

A 100% CGI illustration created for Ryobi powertools for in-store and advertising promotion. The final artwork was over 2 meters tall at 300dpi and was used to create a life-size cardboard cutout for the annual Ryobi conference, after which it was used in hardware stores throughout Australia.
